Weddings at Logie Country House
A proper house-party wedding venue near Inverurie, with everyone together, loads to photograph and a ballroom made for a brilliant night.

The whole place is yours
A wedding that feels like a weekend away
Logie Country House sits at Pitcaple, just outside Inverurie. It has the history and character you want from a country house, but once it is full of your family and pals it feels properly relaxed.
Your closest people can stay in the house, nobody is being moved on for another wedding and the build-up becomes part of it. It feels less like everyone has arrived at a venue and more like you have taken over a brilliant house for a few days.
The house, bridge, trees and open grounds give us plenty to work with. We can use them in short bursts through the day, then get you straight back to everyone.
Why Logie works so well
Space for everyone, a solid rain plan and a ballroom that earns its keep.
01
The house-party feel
With guests staying in the house and the venue completely yours, everyone settles in quickly. The wedding feels like more than one day and there is no rush to clear out once the party is over.
02
Good options in any weather
The grounds are brilliant when it is dry, but the house gives us bright rooms and plenty of character indoors too. A change in the weather does not mean the photographs stop.
03
A proper evening party
The ballroom gives the evening its own atmosphere. Once dinner is finished, the lights drop and everyone moves onto the dance floor, the whole place changes gear.
A real Logie wedding
Hayley & Graeme
Hayley and Graeme’s wedding shows how much variety Logie can give you without anyone needing to leave the venue. We moved from the house and ceremony through family groups, the grounds and into a packed ballroom.
They had a big family list to work through, so the bright rooms inside were just as useful as the grounds. We kept the groups moving, made time for a short wander outside and had them back with everyone before the evening got going.

Another real Logie wedding
Doni & Marcella
Doni and Marcella used the front of Logie, the bridge and the quieter parts of the grounds. A few short bursts through the day gave them loads of variety without keeping them away from their guests.

A few minutes at a time
The bridge, grounds and front of the house
We used one spot, sent them back to their guests, then headed out again later when the light had changed. It gave Doni and Marcella a good mix of photographs from around Logie without losing a huge block of the drinks reception.
That is the benefit of having everything close together. We can make the most of the house and grounds while the wedding keeps moving.
“Logie feels grand enough for a wedding, but once everyone is staying there it settles into a proper house-party atmosphere. That balance makes it a brilliant place to photograph.”

The Eastside approach
Use the house, then get back to the wedding
You have chosen Logie because you want time with the people who are there, so I work the photographs around that rather than taking a huge chunk out of the drinks reception.
We can use the front of the house and the bridge after the ceremony, then head back out for another few minutes if the light improves later. If the weather turns, there are good indoor options and we can change the order without making a fuss about it.
The result is a varied set of photographs from around Logie, while most of your day is still spent with your family and pals.

A few useful things to know
Logie Country House wedding photography questions
Have you photographed at Logie Country House before?
Yes. Hayley and Graeme, and Doni and Marcella are both featured on this page. I know the house, bridge and grounds, and how to use them without pulling you away for ages.
Where are the best places for couple photographs?
The front of the house, wooden bridge, trees and open grounds all give us something different. We choose what works for the light and weather on your day.
What happens if it rains?
Logie gives us plenty of room to adapt. We can use the house and ballroom, watch for a break outside and change the timings without making the day feel stop-start.
Will we miss much of our drinks reception?
No. I normally take you out for a short set of photographs, then we can use another few minutes later if the light is worth it. You still get the variety without being away from everyone for long.
