Couples photography shouldn’t feel like performing for a camera. Whether you’re celebrating an engagement, planning a surprise proposal or simply want some proper photographs together, we’ll keep it relaxed and make the session feel like you, and you will have some amazing photos to look back on.

Why have a couples or engagement session?
It’s about more than just nice photos, although you’ll definitely get plenty of those.
A couples or engagement session is a chance for us to spend time together before the big day (or just because!), get to know each other and create natural photographs in a relaxed setting.

More of a wee adventure than a photoshoot
As an Aberdeen engagement photographer, I like to keep these sessions really relaxed. There’s no studio, no awkwardness and no list of cheesy smiles. We’ll head to a location you love, maybe the mountains, a beach or somewhere that means something to you, and just spend time together.
I’ll give you gentle direction when you need it, but mostly I’ll let you be yourselves. I’ll capture the laughter, the quiet moments, the wind in your hair and the looks you give each other when you think no one is watching. That’s where the magic happens.

BEFORE THE SESSION
We’ll have a good chat about what you’re looking for, location ideas, style, what to wear and any special plans. Whether you know exactly what you want or need a bit of guidance, I’ll help you choose the perfect setting.
DURING THE SESSION
We’ll meet up, have a laugh and go for a walk. I’ll keep things relaxed and easy, giving you just enough direction so you never feel awkward. You enjoy the moment with each other,
I’ll capture it all naturally.
AFTER THE SESSION
You’ll receive a beautiful, high-resolution online gallery full of natural, timeless images. You can download, share and also choose from a range of stunning prints, albums and wall art to turn your favourites into keepsakes.

A pre-wedding session is a brilliant chance for us to spend a bit of time together before the wedding day, without timings, guests or anything else to think about.
As an Aberdeen engagement photographer, I hear the same thing all the time, couples telling me they feel awkward in front of the camera. That’s completely normal, and the whole point of the session is to take that worry away.
It also means that when the wedding comes around, you already know how I work and I know what feels natural for the two of you. That makes the couple photos on the day much easier, because it feels less like meeting your photographer and more like catching up with someone you already know.
Pre-wedding sessions can take place around Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire or further across Scotland, and I’m always happy to help choose a location that suits the two of you.
By the time the wedding day arrives, the camera is one less thing to think about.
